The organisers of the Phoenix Park Motor Races have contacted us regarding a non-championship pursuit sprint they can run in the Park this year (August 14/15th). If there is enough interest among the hillclimb and sprint community then this event can run. The details are as follows.
Competitors will get a practice session and 2 separate sprints hopefully to be held on the same day. A sprint will consist of cars released at 15 to 20 second intervals and the course to last 3 laps of the circuit. Overtaking will be allowed. There will be 2 of these pursuit type sprints held. The cost of entry will be 280 euro if less than 20 cars take part or 240 if more than 20 take part. If you are interested please submit a provisional entry to Denis Hogan using the new Online Entry page on irishhillclimb.com.
If you know anyone who is interested in this type of event please contact them. Close of entries is approaching very soon (July 14th) and the organisers need a concrete idea of the numbers involved.
This is a great opportunity for competitors with a speed licence to get a run in the Phoenix Park – Ireland’s only street circuit.
Hope to see you there.
